EXHIBITION: "PAINT IN MY VAINS" BY ALI JAKUPOVIC

“Paint in my veins” is my first exhibition, and it will show a repertoire of 20+ artworks that I’ve painted and drawn over the period from 2020-2023. The genres vary from realism and surrealism to impressionism. Portraits, landscapes, animals and conceptual, philosophical works.  

For a long time I’ve felt that it was in the cards that I was going to make art. Both of my parents are skilled painters, and that resulted in myself becoming an intuitive, unschooled painter who uses self-taught techniques.  

Art spoke to me from the very early on. When I held a pencil as a child, there was a special feeling present. Some kind of magic occurred every time I moved the pencil over the paper. I could sit and draw for hours and get lost in the process, and I still do.   

Making art soothes my soul, and my brain is constant longing back to the flow state. I have paint in my veins, and a burning passion to create.
